An afternoon of making connections at Fornebu, a flat landscape, the former airport of Oslo, now hosting the headquarters of many of the nation's largest corporations. Here we find Telenor and Equinor whose joint collections of contemporary art amass to over 2,000 works.
“Walking in and around the Telenor headquarters outside Oslo is very much like walking through a museum of international contemporary art.“ - Telenor
We had a guided tour of these corporate collections installed within the surrounding area. Along the way we were entwined by Yewen Qiu, who sifted through stories from the basement of Christie’s auction house. Later on, Ana Victoria Bruno dialied into our conference room at Scandic Fornebu. While being on hold from the collection Ana operated a talk along the lines of The personal, the public and the political: museums as public spaces and the role of museums’ collections in conveying certain values in communities. The influence of the members of the board of trustees on the activities of the museums. Ana is a curator and art writer who is currently a postgraduate student at Goldsmiths University of London (MFA Curating). Former gallery assistant at the Studio Olafur Eliasson in Reykjavik, whose work we encountered on the tour, and of i8 Gallery, Reykjavik, Iceland.
